Made up fears are such a real thing (ironically.) A majority of the time, I think that people will share the exact same negative thoughts I share about my own work, when really, they're really just caught up in their own lives and too busy to really scrutinize me the way I do. Most of the time, they either don't notice, or the ones who do, actually enjoy my work.

That’s so true!! It’s actually kind of relieving knowing that people have their own life to worry about than nitpicking at your work lol. Thanks for sharing Brian!

thanks so much for reading Candice!! So glad it resonates with you. I have to remind myself this EVERY SECOND smh. I am an overthinker. But learning to break out of it and I’ve been seeing the reward!

You hit on some real points this week bro. Two in particular struck a cord:

1) "Initially, I felt offended. How dare you minimize my fears and doubts?"

2) "Dispute your negative thoughts. Really ask, is this fear real or made up?"

My life changed when I started challenging myself to explore why something offended me and when

I began to consider how my perception of a situations (which impacted my feelings) can be wrong.

Also loved the gear/prints 🔥

Thanks for reading, Jamal!

Absolutely feel what you’re saying and I agree too. Sometimes our feelings are indicators and not always factual. So it’s been helpful for me to slow down and really zoom out to see the bigger picture

This came in right as I was getting ready to start working on video content, something I've been overthinking and putting off. I've been getting hit over the head with signs to "just start" lately and this just helped solidify that my overthinking and internal fears are the only things stopping me from being my version of successful. I appreciate you sharing this and I definitely need to check out that book!

Thanks for reading Ashton. I’m right there with you. This was sitting in my drafts for 2 weeks cause I was overthinking lol.(the irony).

I feel the same way about video. I need to shoot some to get back on YouTube and I’ve been overthinking it

You’re not alone! Glad it resonated with you, Vincent! I just keep reminding myself to break the big ideas into small steps and conquer them one by one. That helps with my overthinking !

I read something the other day that said “Overthinking is just under-feeling” and it hit different. I wonder how that resonates with you as a creative?

That’s so good! I think as a creative what I understand from that is the under-feeling comes from insecurities that we aren’t good enough or that our ideas aren’t good enough aand it would feel like a “waste of time” to put all our energy and feeling into said task or project. So perhaps under-feeling is just insecurity anxiety and doubt which can drain the excitement we might have towards something
