Creative Block is a newsletter that gives you a glimpse into my life, creativity, design, and music. It's like a little pick-me-up that you get delivered straight to your inbox.

I’ve designed a lot in my life….posters, prints, jackets for big brands, etc.
But this one? This one means the most.

It’s a varsity jacket I designed for my wife for her first mother day.
Just to say thank you.

Because she’s the reason I know what real love, strength, and beauty look like.

This piece is called “MUVA.”
Because that’s who she is. A mother. A force. A nurturer. A creator. A protector. A soul full of grace and love.

Watching her bring Joziah into this world changed me.
I saw the sacrifice. The patience. The quiet strength it took to show up day after day. The tears no one else saw. The way she kept showing up with tenderness and courage every day.

That kind of strength deserves more than a Mother’s Day card.
It deserves art. So I made this jacket to honor her. (watch the video below)

Every embroidery carries meaning:

“MUVA” in bold letters because mothers deserve to take up space.
The flowers because motherhood is its own kind of bloom.
The Duafe (Adinkra symbol) representing beauty, care, and feminine power.
“MAMA” stitched down the sleeve because she wears that name with pride.

This jacket is my thank you.
For the body that stretched.
The heart that expanded.
The spirit that never gave up.

If you’ve ever mothered, nurtured, carried, or loved someone into becoming this is for you too.

You are art. You are legacy. You are worthy of celebration. Every day.

And if this season is heavy because you’ve lost your mom, my heart is with you.
May her love live on in the way you care, create, and continue.
You are her legacy, too.
