Creative Block is a newsletter that gives you a glimpse into my life, creativity, design, and music. It's like a little pick-me-up that you get delivered straight to your inbox.
You are creative.
Yes—you.
Somewhere along the way, we were taught that creativity belongs to a select few—the artists, the musicians, the designers. But I don’t believe that.
Creativity isn’t about a title. It’s about how you see the world.
It’s in the way you solve problems.
The way you cook.
The way you dress.
The way you turn ordinary moments into something meaningful.
Creativity is everywhere—it’s in you.
For me, growing up in Lagos, I saw creativity not just in art, but in how our people lived. The bold colors they wore. The way they danced at weddings and celebrations. The rhythm in their storytelling. It wasn’t about being trained—it was about being expressive. That energy still shapes everything I do today.
When I design a poster, build a collection, or shoot a art direct a campaign, I’m not aiming for perfection. I’m aiming for expression, emotion and storytelling.
That’s what creativity is: bringing what’s inside you into the world—however that looks.
So this is your reminder:
You are creative.
In your own way.
In your own rhythm.
Don’t let anyone (including yourself) tell you otherwise.
Keep making.
Keep expressing.
Keep creating.

Track of the week
This has been my go to song within the past week when I’m creating.
Quote of the week
“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”
— Maya Angelou
Many years ago, I was sitting in a coworker’s office. He was an administrator, and I—at the time a pastor—carried a deep passion for inspiring others and sharing insight through writing and content creation. As we chatted, he casually remarked that neither of us were creatives, since we both held supervisory roles and handled administrative responsibilities.
When he saw the look of disagreement on my face, he asked, “You don’t really see yourself as a creative, do you?”
Your post brought that memory rushing back. He never knew how hurt and angry his words made me. At the time, I didn’t even fully understand why his words cut so deeply. But with time, I came to see it clearly: his comment struck at the very core of who I am.
I am a creative. It’s not just what I do—it’s who I am.
Pure poetry bro.
"You are creative.
In your own way.
In your own rhythm."
