Designing The Palette Jacket

Last year, I designed this jacket and then tucked it away in the archives for a few months. I kept revisiting it, debating whether I wanted to turn this idea into something tangible. Jackets are my thing—they keep me warm, bring me joy, and give me a way to express myself during the fall. After a lot of thought, I decided to bring this vision to life. Let me take you through how it all started.
One day, I set out to create something I could use in my poster designs, but as I started designing, it evolved into something much bigger—an art piece full of vibrant shapes, colors, and textures. I wouldn’t call myself an 'illustrator' since drawing isn’t really my thing—but working within that limitation helped me discover my love for shapes, patterns, and textures.
I loved what I created and couldn’t help but imagine how it might look on a jacket.
So I did a rough mocked up, just to see. I loved the way the colors popped and how the design came together. This really pushed me to keep exploring how to bring this concept to life.
After a few hours tweaking the design, I began to imagine a "HIS & HERS" jacket collection. I created a second version, changing the jacket and collar colors. The blue looked great, but I kept coming back to the cream version—it just felt right. In the end, I decided to scrap the blue and stick with the cream.
When it came to manufacturing, my curiosity took me down the path of textures. I asked myself, "What if the collar was corduroy?" And, "What if we added chenille embroidery to the chest?" I was determined to give the jacket more than just color—I wanted it to have texture too. I wanted people to not only see the colors but also feel the details up close.
Now, fast forward to today, and I’m thrilled to see how far this idea has come. This jacket is more than just a piece of clothing to me—it’s wearable art, something that embodies my love for color, texture, and creative expression. It’s designed to be bold, to make you feel confident, and to add a little bit of joy to your wardrobe.
Each detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the soft corduroy collar that adds a unique touch of texture, to the chenille embroidery on the chest that gives the design some depth. I wanted this jacket to stand out not just from afar but also up close, where you can truly appreciate the artistry behind it.
